Martha Pelayo is a senior executive with over 35 years of experience in the healthcare field. Her business acumen combines a myriad of disciplines within the healthcare industry, including the fostering of provider networks, contracting, financial performance tactics, credentialing, compliance, legal and medical economics, just to name a few.

Pelayo has held leadership positions on national and local networks, most recently with Cigna Healthcare as director of Network Operations. As a solid operations executive, she has spearheaded the overhaul of several MSO networks. Her proven abilities to manage and develop networks and provider relations throughout the State of Florida were vastly recognized during her tenure at WellCare of Florida, where she elevated the organization’s standing in the South Florida Market to new heights.

She combines her healthcare knowledge with tactful leadership skills, bringing accountability to all the businesses entrusted to her. Pelayo’s experience in Medicaid and Medicare risk management are enhancers to her executive acumen, which she has demonstrated while holding leadership positions with several major health plans, including Avmed, PCA, Evercare-UHC, Vista and others.

Pelayo has chaired Credentialing/Quality & JCAHO Committees. She is a frequent speaker at Nova School of Medicine, lecturing primary care physicians on office/billing seminars. She believes in the power of establishing long-lasting partnerships within the healthcare industry, and this is her secret sauce in the development and strengthening of provider networks at the state and national level.

Entrepreneurial by nature, she advanced business administration and computer science studies at Miami Dade College and Pace University in New York.
