Thao Tran,MD, MPH is a physician and healthcare executive with a wide range of operational experience in the academic, clinical, and public healthcare sectors. Dr. Tran currently serves as the President for PNS Texas as well as the Chief Medical officer (CMO) and Chief Quality Officer (CQO) for Provider Network Solutions and HOPCo Network Solutions. Her specialty is in innovative care delivery and business models for primary care providers and sub-delegated specialties for various health plans, and MSOs; ensuring that standards and protocols are in place to provide the highest quality of care, and strategic alignment with company goals.

Dr. Tran earned her degree in Chemical Engineering from California Polytechnic University, and also holds a Medical Degree from the University of Minnesota as well as a Master of Public Health and Healthcare Policy from Loyola University. She has practiced medicine in an academic setting for over 20 years and has assisted both higher education institutions and healthcare entities with federal and state regulatory compliance, legal issues, revenue cycle management, patient safety and quality outcomes. Her vast knowledge of healthcare, operational expertise and innovative approach have allowed for the establishment of various successful programs.

In addition to her work, Dr. Tran has devoted over a decade to working in the public sector as a member of the Board of Directors (and Chairwoman) of Health Foundation of South Florida as well as a Consultant to Health Care Policy for Miami Dade. Under her leadership, she pivoted HFSF’s strategic vision towards innovative impact investments and collaborative efforts toward policy and systems change, resulting in the improvement of the health of South Florida communities with the focus on diversity population. Currently, she is serving as Chairwoman for Community Advisory Board of PathWell at NOVA Southeastern University. Partnership Advancing Equitable Access to Health and Wellbeing (PATHWell) at Nova Southeastern University’s Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine (NSU MD) will aim to create a national model for studying, integrating, disseminating, and measuring the causes and impacts of health inequities in underserved communities.
